My cakes will be baked for you fresh, from scratch, with the best ingredients available, and with no additives or preservatives. Also, my cakes are not slathered in sugary, high fat, calorie empty frostings (that you pay dearly for but end up scraping off anyway no matter how pretty it looks!) And now to settle the ongoing and ever present debate….is it a cake or a bread? I call mine cake, another says it's bread. So who’s right and what's the difference? Well, we'd both be right and there is a significant difference. Banana cake is “cakier,” that is, lighter, more moist and delicate, and somehow more flavorful than banana bread, which is denser and closer in texture to a regular bread. Maybe it's the lower proportion of flour to other ingredients that allows the banana flavor to come out from under the excess flour in a denser loaf. Both use basically the same ingredients but in different proportions. Another difference is purely visual, banana bread is almost always shaped into a loaf but the cake comes in many shapes...loaf, round, square, cupcakes, and even in jars!
Whatever you decide to call it and whatever shape you choose, I can assure you one thing...it'll always be delicious!
